HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

I thought I would write a little something for those of you who are hosting loved ones today.  Below are some last minuet DIY Thanksgiving decorating tips…. just in-case you need them!

Branches of holly, crab apple, or bittersweet berries make great Thanksgiving centerpieces and if you are lucky you won’t have to go any further than your back yard to get them….

Speaking of collecting things in your back yard……

When my aunt hosts Thanksgiving at her house in Montauk, she makes the place cards out of rocks from her beach. So creative!  They also make great holiday keepsakes – I keep mine on a little soap dish in my bathroom!

I love the idea of using gold acorns as a thanksgiving accent.  All you need is a can of gold spray paint and some acorns and you are ready to impress….  If you are not one for arts and crafts you can buy the acorns pictured by clicking the link above.

Take a tip from Martha and make custom place cards using mini pumpkins, some paper, a gold pen and the same can of spray paint you used for the acorns above (If you haven’t guessed already I am a big fan of spray paint).  Martha has tons of great tips and tricks like this one to insure a stress free Thanksgiving on her website.

Above is another great idea for a homemade place card using a festive seasonal fruit and paper name tags tied in place with twine.  Leave it to Martha!  More at Marthastewart.com: Table Decor.

Cheers and Happy Holidays!!! xx KRIS
